Abstract

Cervical cancer remains one of the leading causes of death among women, largely due to delayed detection and low participation in screening programs. This community service program aimed to improve women’s knowledge of early cervical cancer detection through health education and IVA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) and HPV DNA screening services. The activity was conducted on June 23–24, 2026, in Bangko Village, within the working area of the Pajala Community Health Center, West Muna Regency. Participants were married or sexually active women of reproductive age. The program included interactive health education through lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and leaflet distribution, followed by IVA examinations and HPV DNA sample collection. A total of 35 women attended the educational session, and 5 participants underwent screening. All IVA examination results were negative, while HPV DNA samples were submitted to a reference laboratory for further analysis. The program increased participants’ understanding of cervical cancer risk factors, the importance of early detection, and the benefits of regular screening. These findings indicate that community-based education combined with accessible screening services can improve awareness and encourage women to participate in cervical cancer prevention programs, ultimately supporting increased screening coverage and earlier disease detection.
