Abstract

This study examines the role of sharia insurance as a financial protection instrument for low-income people in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature study, this study analyzes the challenges, as well as opportunities for the development of inclusive sharia insurance. The results of the study show that sharia insurance has great potential to become an instrument of financial protection for low-income people through the principles of tabarru', ta'awun, and fair profit sharing. However, the low level of Islamic financial literacy and the Islamic financial inclusion index based on the 2024 National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion are the main obstacles. The strategy of expanding access through digitalization, sharia insurance products, and inter-institutional cooperation is identified as a solution to encourage the development of sharia insurance to low-income segments of society. Abstract

Abstract: Wakaf merupakan instrumen filantropi Islam yang potensial dalam mendukung pembangunan sosial dan ekonomi umat. Sayangnya, wakaf masih dipersepsikan sebagai amalan tradisional yang hanya dapat dilakukan oleh kalangan tertentu, sehingga partisipasi masyarakat luas masih rendah. Rendahnya literasi wakaf dan sempitnya pemahaman tentang bentuk wakaf modern, seperti wakaf uang, menjadi hambatan utama. Program ini bertujuan menjadikan wakaf sebagai bagian dari gaya hidup (lifestyle) masyarakat melalui pendekatan edukatif dan kreatif. Kegiatan mencakup kampanye media sosial, pelatihan wakaf praktis, dan kerja sama dengan lembaga wakaf resmi. Dengan program ini, masyarakat didorong untuk melihat wakaf sebagai amalan yang mudah, relevan, dan berdampak.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program is President Prabowo Subianto's priority policy to address stunting. However, its universal tax-funded mechanism from the state budget raises fiscal justice concerns, as the financial burden is universally shared while direct benefits remain partial. This mixed-method socio-legal study aims to analyze MBG’s fiscal justice dimension through public policy, Maqashid Sharia, and SDGs Zero Hunger. The findings indicate that MBG aligns with Maqashid Sharia in protecting life, wealth, and public interest by stimulating local economies. Although a fiscal justice gap persists due to uneven distribution, it is offset by long-term national productivity gains. In conclusion, its sustainability relies on transparent governance and expanding distribution to remote areas to ensure inclusive distributive justice
