Abstract

Fenomena Blood Moon merupakan gerhana Bulan total yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi atmosfer Bumi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis proses terjadinya Blood Moon serta keterkaitannya dengan kondisi atmosfer dan cahaya langit malam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Populasi sumber data penelitian berupa publikasi ilmiah tentang Blood Moon, atmosfer Bumi, dan cahaya langit malam, dengankan sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui penelusuran Google Scholar dan sumber resmi lainnya menggunakan instrumen berupa jurnal ilmiah, artikel penelitian, dan dokumen resmi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui identifikasi, seleksi, reduksi, interpretasi, dan sintesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Blood Moon terjadi akibat pembiasan dan hamburan cahaya Matahari oleh atmosfer Bumi sehingga Bulan tampak merah saat gerhana Bulan total. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kondisi atmosfer menentukan warna Bulan dan kecerahan langit malam. Pada penelitian selanjutnya disarankan menggunakan data observasi langsung dan data meteorologi untuk meningkatkan akurasi analisis. ABSTRACT The Blood Moon phenomenon is a total lunar eclipse influenced by conditions in Earth’s atmosphere. This study aims to analyze the process by which a Blood Moon occurs and its relationship to atmospheric conditions and night sky brightness. This study employs a literature review using a qualitative descriptive approach. The population of data sources consists of scientific publications on the Blood Moon, Earth’s atmosphere, and night sky light, with samples selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through searches on Google Scholar and other official sources using instruments such as scientific journals, research articles, and official documents. Data analysis was conducted through identification, selection, reduction, interpretation, and synthesis. The results show that a Blood Moon occurs due to the refraction and scattering of sunlight by Earth’s atmosphere, causing the Moon to appear red during a total lunar eclipse. It can therefore be concluded that atmospheric conditions determine the Moon’s color and the brightness of the night sky. For future research, it is recommended to use direct observational data and meteorological data to improve the accuracy of the analysis
