Abstract

This study examines the transformational leadership of a female principal at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang, focusing on how her leadership impacts curriculum development and institutional progress. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Findings show that her leadership aligns with four key dimensions of transformational leadership: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. These are evident in improved teacher attendance (+30%), enhanced teacher motivation (85% satisfaction), innovative program launches, and reduced disciplinary cases (–50%). The school’s values-based SAKINAH curriculum is implemented through integrative programs such as eco-education, Qur’an-based projects, and student entrepreneurship. This leadership model significantly improves the school’s reputation, achievements, and enrollment. The study recommends structured support for women leaders, contextualized curriculum design, and broader adoption of eco-integrated programs. Future research should explore long-term impacts of female leadership and the replication of this model in other Islamic educational settings
