Abstract

The low level of students’ critical thinking skills in science learning is primarily attributed to instructional practices that are still dominated by basic question-and-answer methods and limited discussions. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by mind mapping on elementary school students’ science critical thinking skills in terms of their self-efficacy. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design. The population consisted of 324 fourth-grade elementary school students, and random sampling was used to select the research sample. Data were collected through questionnaires and essay tests, with self-efficacy and critical thinking tests serving as the research instruments. Data analysis techniques included descriptive analysis and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results indicated that: first, there were significant differences in science critical thinking skills between students taught using the PBL model assisted by mind mapping and those taught using conventional learning models. Second, there was a significant interaction effect between the PBL model assisted by mind mapping and students’ self-efficacy on science critical thinking skills. Third, there were significant differences in science critical thinking skills between students with high self-efficacy who learned through the PBL model assisted by mind mapping and those who learned through conventional models.Fourth, there were significant differences in science critical thinking skills between students with low self-efficacy who learned through the PBL model assisted by mind mapping and those who learned through conventional models.

Abstract

Guru mengalami kesulitan dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis digital, karena rendahnya kompetensi dan literasi digital guru. Mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) memerlukan media pembelajaran yang efektif untuk mendukung tujuan pengajaran yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan karakter dan pemahaman tentang nilai-nilai kewarganegaraan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis multimedia interaktif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar pendidikan kewarganegaraan (Pkn) siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan suatu studi literatur yang menerapkan metode Systematic Review (SR). Penelitian ini terdiri dari beberapa tahapan pertama, merumuskan pertanyaan penelitian yang berfokus pada penerapan multimedia interaktif pada pembelajaran PKn di sekolah dasar. Kedua, menentukan populasi data yang relevan. Pencarian literatur dimulai dengan mengakses data yang tersedia di Google Scholar. Batasan artikel yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2017 hingga 2025. Ketiga, setelah melakukan pencarian di database Google Scholar. Penelitian ini memilih 10 artikel yang secara substansial berkaitan dengan multimedia interaktif dalam pembelajaran PKn. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penerapan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Multimedia interaktif memiliki kontribusi penting dalam pembelajaran PKN di sekolah dasar dengan meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, menyederhanakan materi kompleks, dan menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik dan kontekstual. Implikasi penelitian ini yaitu Multimedia interaktif dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.
