<![CDATA[The integration of character education into English language learning has become an important educational objective, particularly through authentic instructional media that promote both linguistic competence and moral development. Among various audiovisual resources, animated films provide meaningful social contexts in which learners can observe language use, cultural values, and interpersonal interactions. This study aims to analyze The Book of Life as a medium for character education and English language learning by employing Muzafer Sherif's literary psychology, focusing on the concepts of social norms, intergroup conflict, and cooperation toward superordinate goals. In addition, the study examines the representation of the five core values of the Indonesian Character Education Strengthening (Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter/PPK) framework: religiousness, nationalism, independence, mutual cooperation, and integrity. This research adopted a qualitative descriptive design using thematic content analysis. The primary data consisted of dialogues, character behaviors, interactions, and significant scenes from The Book of Life. Data were collected through repeated observation, documentation, and note-taking, and subsequently analyzed based on Sherif's theoretical framework and the Indonesian character education framework. The trustworthiness of the findings was enhanced through theoretical triangulation and repeated examination of the film's narrative and dialogue. The findings reveal that the film effectively represents Sherif's concepts of social norms, intergroup conflict, and cooperation through the characters' moral dilemmas, interpersonal relationships, and collective efforts to resolve conflict. Furthermore, the analysis demonstrates that the five core values of Indonesian character education are consistently embedded throughout the narrative, particularly through the protagonists' decisions, ethical behavior, and collaborative actions. The authentic English dialogues and culturally rich contexts also provide meaningful opportunities for developing learners' language proficiency, intercultural awareness, critical thinking, and moral reasoning. This study concludes that The Book of Life is an effective instructional medium for integrating character education with English language learning. The study contributes to the literature by combining literary psychology with the Indonesian Character Education Strengthening framework, offering an interdisciplinary perspective on film-based language education. The findings provide practical implications for English language teachers seeking authentic audiovisual materials that simultaneously foster linguistic competence and character development.]]>
