Abstract

Inventory management is a crucial aspect of modern business operations. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has emerged as a promising solution to improve inventory management processes. RFID enables data transmission through radio waves, eliminating the need for direct physical contact. The use of RFID tags on inventory items facilitates automated and detailed stocktaking processes. This study proposes the implementation of the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology to design and develop an RFID tag-based stocktaking system integrated with an inventory monitoring system. The RAD methodology is recognized for its rapid, iterative, and flexible approach to system development. The research was conducted at Annura, a micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) located in Bandung Regency, serving as a real-world environment to evaluate the effectiveness of RFID technology in inventory management. By adopting the RAD approach, this study aims to provide a responsive and efficient solution that meets the inventory management needs of MSMEs. The implementation of RFID technology is expected to provide more accurate and real-time inventory information, thereby supporting more effective decision-making. Consequently, this research has the potential to make a significant contribution to addressing inventory management challenges faced by MSMEs and businesses in general.
