Abstract

This study examines the role of Wayang Kulit, particularly the Aji Narantaka episode, as a medium for the internalization of religious nationalism within rural communities. The study focuses on a community service program conducted in Temengeng Village, Blora Regency, where wayang performances had been absent for more than a decade despite previously functioning as an important collective cultural tradition. Guided by the Religious-Cultural Nationalism Internalization (RCNI) Model, this study employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving community leaders, local residents, village officials, audience participants, and the university service team. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed qualitatively through thematic interpretation. The findings reveal that the revitalization of the wayang performance strengthened cultural loyalty, collective solidarity, moral-religious responsibility, and community commitment toward sustaining local cultural traditions. The symbolic values embodied in the Aji Narantaka episode also fostered emotional engagement and collective awareness regarding social responsibility, cultural preservation, and national identity. These findings demonstrate that traditional cultural performances can function not only as cultural preservation activities, but also as a form of social pedagogy capable of strengthening religious nationalism through collective cultural experiences in rural community life.

Abstract

In Indonesia, members of Generation Z encounter notable difficulties in regulating their personal finances, largely attributable to inadequate financial literacy and pronounced consumerist behavior, even though the utilization of financial technology is steadily expanding. The present research investigates how financial literacy, financial attitudes, and fintech-based payment systems influence students’ ability to manage their finances, while considering financial self-efficacy as an intermediary construct. The study adopts a quantitative explanatory design and surveys 120 students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at IAI Khozinatul Ulum Blora, selected through stratified random sampling procedures. Data were obtained via a five-point Likert-type questionnaire and subsequently processed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The empirical results indicate that financial attitudes significantly enhance self-efficacy but exert no direct effect on financial management. Conversely, financial literacy shows a robust impact on financial management, whereas financial self-efficacy does not mediate the examined relationships. Fintech payment plays a dual function by simultaneously strengthening self-efficacy and exerting a direct positive influence on students’ financial management practices. Overall, the findings underscore the pivotal contribution of financial technology in directing students’ financial conduct in the digital age, while revealing differentiated patterns of influence for literacy and attitudes.

Abstract

This research aims to philosophically analyze K.H. Ahmad Dahlan’s educational thought as a solution to the crisis in balancing spirituality and rationality within Islamic education. This crisis originates from the dichotomy between religious sciences (ulum ad-din) and general sciences (ulum al-kaun), which leads to value disorientation and weak integration within the Islamic education system. The study uses qualitative methods with a library research design and a hermeneutic-philosophical analysis approach. Data is obtained from the works of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan, biographical literature, and relevant previous research. Analysis is conducted through data reduction, thematic categorization based on ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions, and the interpretation of meaning using the framework of educational philosophy. The study reveals that K.H. Ahmad Dahlan developed an integrative educational philosophy that rejects scientific dualism and emphasizes the unity of revelation and reason. Ontologically, humans are viewed as spiritual-rational beings; epistemologically, knowledge derives from revelation and empirical reality; axiologically, knowledge must be realized in social practice. The novelty of this research lies in the systematic reconstruction of Dahlan's educational philosophy as a conceptual model relevant for the reform of modern Islamic education. This thought offers an integrative paradigm for developing value-based curricula, spiritual-digital literacy, and transformative social learning.
