Abstract

The halal industry plays a critical role in global food production, ensuring that products adhere to strict religious guidelines regarding cleanliness and purity. One of the key challenges in halal manufacturing processes is preventing cross-contamination, particularly the contamination of halal products with Najis (impure substances). A crucial aspect of this challenge lies in the design of plant layouts, which must be optimized to reduce the risk of contamination during production. This research aims to investigate how industrial engineering principles can be applied to optimize plant layout in halal manufacturing settings, focusing on preventing cross-contamination. The study employs a combination of simulation modeling and expert consultations to assess current plant layouts and propose improvements. The results show that a well-designed plant layout, incorporating designated areas for halal and non-halal products, along with streamlined workflow patterns, significantly reduces the risk of Najis contamination. Additionally, implementing proper separation of production lines, storage areas, and personnel flow further enhances product safety and compliance with halal standards. The study concludes that optimizing plant layout is an effective strategy for ensuring halal product integrity, and such improvements can be adapted across various manufacturing sectors. These findings provide valuable insights for halal food producers seeking to enhance quality control and prevent contamination

Abstract

The increasing global demand for sustainable energy has positioned Green Sukuk as an innovative Islamic financial instrument to support renewable energy development while adhering to Sharia principles. Indonesia, as the largest issuer of sovereign Green Sukuk among Muslim-majority countries, demonstrates significant potential in aligning environmental sustainability with Islamic finance. This study aims to analyze the legal and financial frameworks governing Green Sukuk issuance in Indonesia and evaluate its effectiveness in financing renewable energy projects. A qualitative-descriptive method was employed using a doctrinal legal approach combined with case study analysis of Indonesia’s Green Sukuk programs between 2018 and 2023. The study examines regulatory documents, Ministry of Finance reports, and project financing data to assess compliance with both Sharia standards and environmental governance frameworks. The findings reveal that Green Sukuk has successfully mobilized capital for renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, particularly in solar, geothermal, and hydropower projects. However, challenges persist regarding project selection transparency, verification standards, and the integration of international green finance taxonomy. The research concludes that strengthening the legal architecture, enhancing cross-sectoral governance, and developing standardized Green Sukuk evaluation mechanisms are essential to maximize its role in achieving Indonesia’s energy transition and sustainability goals.

Abstract

Background. The digital age has introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transform education. However, rural schools often lack these opportunities. This research investigates how AI-driven pedagogy can empower Arabic language teachers in underserved rural communities. Purpose. The study's primary objective is to evaluate the impact of AI tools on teaching practices. Specifically, it assesses how AI can enhance pedagogical effectiveness, increase student engagement, and ultimately improve learning outcomes in Arabic language classes. Method. The research utilized a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. Teachers actively participated in the research process, experimenting with AI tools, reflecting on their use, and adapting their teaching strategies. Data were collected via interviews, observations, and feedback surveys. Results. Findings demonstrate significant improvements. AI tools enhanced instructional effectiveness and facilitated personalized learning. This led to increased student interest and participation in Arabic lessons. Teachers also reported greater satisfaction in meeting diverse student needs. Conclusion. AI is crucial for empowering rural educators. By providing tools for personalized and effective instruction, AI integration helps bridge educational gaps. This fosters a more inclusive and sustainable learning environment in underserved rural settings.
