Abstract

Lack of knowledge among prospective acceptors significantly influences interest in using contraception. Several findings provide program implications, namely when women's knowledge is lacking, interest in using contraception also decreases, if only women are always given information, while husbands lack guidance and approach, husbands sometimes forbid their wives due to ignorance and lack of communication to share knowledge (Suparyanto, 2010). Research Objective: to determine the description of factors that influence women of childbearing age not to become family planning acceptors in the Community Health Center Sidodadi , Pidie Jaya Regency, in terms of knowledge, husband's support, and information. Research Method: This study uses a descriptive survey method with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all women of childbearing age at the Community Health Center Sidodadi, and the sample was 88 people. Research Results: The results showed that based on knowledge, the majority of respondents were in the sufficient knowledge category, namely 30 respondents (56.6%). Based on family support, the majority of respondents received family support to become family planning acceptors, namely 39 respondents (73.6%). Based on the information, the majority of respondents, 40 respondents (75.5%), had insufficient information about family planning (FP) acceptance. Conclusions and Recommendations: Of the 53 respondents targeted in this study, it can be concluded that the most dominant factor influencing couples (PUS) not accepting family planning is husband's support. It is hoped that the results of this study can be utilized by health workers and health cadres in promoting and can serve as input for counseling and promotion purposes, thereby increasing the number of participants participating in family planning.
