Abstract

Abstract

For Indonesian people, the world of art is an integral part of life. Art has become their identity since the ancient time. It is because art and its products are born from the appreciation of everyday life. Art philosophy is inseparable from the meaning of daily life. The more a society produces art with high values and tastes, the more reflective capacity they have to explore life. This reflective ability has actually helped enliven the development era which has increasingly undergone fundamental changes (disruption) in all fields. Entering the era of industrial revolution 4.0, now the world of art and its meaning are slowly distorted. Revolution 4.0 dragged art into capitalism and ended in obscurity of identity. Gadamer's study of how to view art as a game, symbol and festival becomes an interruption to restore the meaning of art in its place. Gadamer's art criticism is also very relevant for Indonesian people. This criticism is an opportunity for Indonesians to reinterpret the spirit of art in them. Understanding art means immersing in one’s self-identity as a true Indonesian to become more authentic.

Abstract

This paper examines fundamental changes in religious practice and understanding in the postmodern era, where collective religious authority has shifted toward a more personal form of spirituality. Postmodernism, as a critique of modernism and rationality that marginalizes human values, opens up space for pluralistic interpretations and individual spiritual freedom. Phenomena such as digital religion, the commodification of spirituality, and the emergence of alternative faith movements in Indonesia demonstrate that religious practices tend not to be closely tied to formal institutions, but rather to become reflective and subjective experiences. Using qualitative descriptive methods based on literature studies, this paper explores how contemporary religious patterns have evolved from collective rituals to individual spirituality, as well as their implications for social cohesion and the meaning of religiosity. The results show that this shift does not signal the decline of religion but rather a transformation toward a more dialogical, flexible form of religiosity that aligns with the existential needs of modern people.

Abstract

This study explores how digital psychological experiences influence the self-confidence of volunteers within the context of contemporary civic engagement. Employing a qualitative approach with an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) design, the research delves into the subjective experiences of three founders of an Indonesian volunteer-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews, supplemented by documentation analysis and non-participant observation. The findings reveal that volunteers' self-confidence is constructed through a dynamic and dialectical process shaped by their interactions in digital spaces. Social media platforms function as ambivalent psychological arenas, simultaneously providing validation and posing threats. In response, volunteers develop a form of dynamic self-confidence, anchored in two pillars: evidence-based efficacy (rooted in tangible impact) and value-based resilience (rooted in intrinsic motivation and preparedness). To sustain this confidence, they employ dual resilience strategies: collective emotion regulation within their team and personal digital literacy practices, such as selective detachment. The study concludes that sustaining civic engagement in the digital era requires not only instrumental skills but also the psychosocial capacity to navigate the complex psychological landscape of online spaces.
