Palm kernel meal (BIS) is a by-product of producing palm kernel oil which can be used as a feed ingredient for poultry. However, its use in poultry is still very limited due to the high amount of crude fiber, namely xylan. One way to hydrolyze xylan bonds is through a fermentation process using microbes that produce the enzyme xylanase, including cow rumen fluid, corn cob flour and molasses. This research aims to determine the effect of using fermented BIS with corncob flour as a xylan producer in feed on the carcass and abdominal fat of broiler chickens. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. he treatment applied is: P0= Commercial ration + 0% BISF, P1= Commercial ration + 15% BIS, P2 = Commercial ration + 15% BISF, P3 = Commercial ration + 20% BISF, P4 = Commercial ration + 25% BISF. The variables observed were feed consumption, slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance, the results that had a significant effect were followed by the Duncan Distance Test. The results of analysis of variance showed that the use of fermented BIS had a significant effect on feed consumption (P<0.05), but had no significant effect on slaughter weight weight, carcass weight and abdominal fat. The results of the Duncan distance test showed that the effect of using BIS as a result of fermentation significantly (P<0.05) reduced feed consumption.ased on this research, it can be concluded that the use of BIS fermentation at a level of 25% can be used in rations without affecting the carcass and abdominal fat of broiler chickens.
