ABSTRACT Firefighting is a high-risk occupation in terms of occupational safety and health (OSH) due to exposure to physical, chemical, and electrical hazards under emergency conditions. This study aims to analyze occupational accident risks among firefighters in Palembang City using the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis at the Palembang City Fire and Rescue Service, Kemuning Station, during June–July 2025. The hazard identification process revealed 19 potential occupational hazards classified into physical hazards (84%), chemical hazards (11%), and electrical hazards (5%). Risk assessment based on the AS/NZS 4360:2004 risk matrix indicated that three hazards were categorized as extreme risk, seven as high risk, seven as medium risk, and two as low risk. Extreme risks included electrical shock, exposure to toxic fire smoke, and extreme heat at fire scenes. Current risk control measures are predominantly administrative controls, such as standard operating procedures, briefings, training, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Although HIRARC has not been formally implemented, its fundamental principles have been implicitly applied in daily operational practices. Therefore, a gradual implementation of HIRARC is recommended to strengthen the OSH system, enhance firefighter preparedness, and reduce occupational accident risks. Keywords: HIRARC, OHS, firefighting, occupational risks ABSTRAK Pemadam kebakaran merupakan profesi dengan tingkat risiko tinggi terhadap keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) akibat paparan bahaya fisik, kimia, dan listrik dalam kondisi darurat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis risiko kecelakaan kerja pada petugas pemadam kebakaran Kota Palembang menggunakan metode Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC). Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan, dan analisis dokumen pada Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran dan Penyelamatan Kota Palembang Pos Kemuning pada Juni–Juli 2025. Hasil identifikasi bahaya menunjukkan terdapat 19 potensi bahaya kerja yang dikelompokkan ke dalam bahaya fisik (84%), kimia (11%), dan listrik (5%). Penilaian risiko menggunakan matriks AS/NZS 4360:2004 menunjukkan tiga bahaya berada pada kategori risiko ekstrem, tujuh kategori tinggi, tujuh kategori sedang, dan dua kategori rendah. Risiko ekstrem meliputi sengatan listrik, paparan asap beracun, dan suhu panas di lokasi kebakaran. Upaya pengendalian risiko yang diterapkan saat ini masih didominasi oleh administratrative control seperti SOP, briefing, pelatihan, serta penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD). Metode HIRARC belum diterapkan secara formal, namun prinsip-prinsip dasarnya telah dijalankan secara tidak langsung dalam praktik operasional. Oleh karena itu, penerapan HIRARC secara bertahap direkomendasikan untuk memperkuat sistem K3, meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan petugas, serta menurunkan risiko kecelakaan kerja.
