Abstract

Massively the use of fossil energy makes the earth poisoned by pollution, and the environment is damaged due to the resulting waste. The existence of renewable energy such as biomass can be an existing solution. One example is the calliandra plant which can be useful in many ways. This paper uses the literature review method to show that Calliandra is not only used as livestock feed but could also be used as co-firing fuel as an electric source. Producing a heat of 4,200 kcal/kg so that the ideal calliandra for firewood or charcoal. Calliandra can be used as the co-firing material in the form of biochar with a pyrolysis process.

Abstract

Electricity is crucial at this time, but the challenge lies in reducing and replacing the use of fossil fuels, as continuous use will exacerbate climate change and harm the world. The best solution is to replace it with new renewable energy sources, such as geothermal energy, which has significant potential in Indonesia. The most considerable geothermal potential in the world is 29.038 MW. This paper uses the literature review method. The criteria for articles used as sources are research-type articles. The purpose of this article is to review the geothermal potential in Indonesia, which can be utilised and developed to reduce the use of fossil energy, which has negative impacts in the future, so that this potential can be used optimally.

Abstract

Renewable energy is certainly more environmentally friendly because it can reduce air pollution and environmental damage due to exploration. The costs incurred to produce energy are cheaper because the energy source is free. Electricity is important now, but the obstacle faced is how to reduce and replace fossil energy because if it is continuously used, it will hurt the world. The best solution is to replace it with new renewable energy, such as geothermal energy, which has great potential in Indonesia. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive research method. The data used in this study were taken through in-depth interviews with an expert and a literature study from various relevant sources. The data was collected through in-depth interviews based on the IAEA's Sustainable Development Energy Indicator framework, which Prof. Thierry Lefèvre simplified. The results of the in-depth interviews are then combined with relevant data and literature.
