Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara sistematis efektivitas model pembelajaran Inquiry Training dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, hasil belajar, dan keterampilan ilmiah peserta didik di berbagai jenjang pendidikan dan bidang studi. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan menelaah *15 artikel ilmiah terpublikasi pada 2019–2025 di jurnal terindeks Sinta dan Scopus. Artikel dipilih berdasarkan kriteria inklusi tertentu, seperti fokus pada penerapan Inquiry Training, penyajian data empiris, serta relevansi dengan konteks pembelajaran abad ke-21. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Inquiry Training secara konsisten memberikan pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis, hasil belajar, dan keterampilan ilmiah, dengan nilai effect size antara 0,885 hingga 1,90. Model ini efektif karena mendorong siswa untuk aktif bertanya, menyelidiki, dan merefleksikan pengetahuan. Integrasi dengan teknologi digital seperti PhET Simulation dan *Google Classroom memperkuat keterlibatan siswa dan memperluas pengalaman belajar. Selain itu, Inquiry Training juga efektif diterapkan pada pembelajaran non-sains, seperti Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Fiqih. Secara teoretis, keberhasilan model ini selaras dengan teori konstruktivisme dan tuntutan kompetensi abad ke-21 (4C). Dengan demikian, Inquiry Training merupakan model pembelajaran yang efektif, fleksibel, dan kontekstual untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (Higher Order Thinking Skills/HOTS). Penelitian lanjutan disarankan mengeksplorasi integrasi Inquiry Training dengan strategi lain seperti Project-Based Learning dan Problem-Based Learning guna memperkuat hasil pembelajaran.

Abstract

Science learning in the 21st century requires students to develop higher-order thinking skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem solving. However, science learning in many schools is still dominated by teacher-centered approaches that limit students’ active participation. One approach that can address this issue is the integration of Problem Based Learning (PBL) with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach. This study aims to analyze research trends related to the implementation of PBL integrated with STEM in science learning through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data were obtained from scientific articles indexed in Google Scholar using the Publish or Perish application with keywords including Problem Based Learning, STEM Education, PBL STEM, and STEM Problem-Based Learning. The article selection process followed the PRISMA stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. From 200 initial articles, 30 articles were selected for analysis. The results show that most studies focus on learning outcomes, problem solving skills, and critical thinking skills. These findings indicate that PBL integrated with STEM has strong potential to support meaningful and contextual science learning.
