ABSTRACT Vocational education is expected to produce graduates who possess not only technical competencies but also 21st-century skills. However, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) learning at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat has been predominantly implemented through Direct Instruction, resulting in suboptimal learning outcomes and 5C skills among students. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of implementing Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in improving learning outcomes and 5C skills of Grade XI Machining Engineering students. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. The participants consisted of 52 students, including 27 students in the experimental class and 25 students in the control class. Data were collected using learning achievement tests and 5C observation sheets, then analyzed using the Independent Sample t-test and N-Gain analysis. The findings revealed that the experimental class achieved significantly higher learning outcomes than the control class (t = 7.442; p = 0.000), with a high N-Gain score (0.7128). Furthermore, the experimental class demonstrated significantly better 5C skills (t = 115.231; p = 0.000). Therefore, Project-Based Learning is effective in enhancing both learning outcomes and 5C skills in CNC learning at vocational high schools. ABSTRAK Pendidikan vokasi dituntut menghasilkan lulusan yang tidak hanya menguasai kompetensi teknis, tetapi juga memiliki keterampilan abad ke-21. Namun, pembelajaran Computer Numerical Control (CNC) di SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat masih didominasi Direct Instruction, sehingga hasil belajar dan keterampilan 5C peserta didik belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas penerapan Project Based Learning (PjBL) dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterampilan 5C peserta didik kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dan desain Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 52 peserta didik yang terdiri atas 27 peserta didik kelas eksperimen dan 25 peserta didik kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar dan lembar observasi keterampilan 5C, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Independent Sample t-test dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (t = 7,442; Sig. = 0,000), dengan nilai N-Gain kategori tinggi (0,7128). Keterampilan 5C kelas eksperimen juga lebih baik dibandingkan kelas kontrol (t = 115,231; Sig. = 0,000). Dengan demikian, penerapan Project Based Learning efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterampilan 5C pada pembelajaran CNC di SMK.
