Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia, as a country with a Muslim majority population, is home to thousands of mosques  spread across its regions, including the Jami’ Al-Baitul Amien Mosque located at the heart of Jember Regency. As one of the oldest mosques in the area, it holds significant historical and architectural value. This study aims to explore the mathematical elements embedded within the architectural structure of the Jami’ Mosque in Jember through an ethnomathematical lens. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach, utilizing literature review, field observasition, and visual documentation as data sources. The findings reveal the presence of various mathematical concepts within the mosque, including olane and solid geometry, lines and angles, circle tangents, Roman numerals, geometric transformations, symmetry, congruence, and similarity. These results demonstrate that mathematical principles are inherently integrated into Islamic architecture and culture, offering a meaningful and context rich foundation for mathematics education.
