Abstract

This research aims to describe capability of basic vocabulary and derivative vocabulary in children aged 5-6 years old in PAUD Al-Haidar Bandung. The method used is qualitative descriptive research method. The data of this research is every words which formed by children aged 5-6 years old in PAUD Al-Haidar Bandung. The result of this research shows that most children aged 5-6 years old use the basic vocabulary than derivative vocabulary. The reason of it, because children aged 5-6 years old are still in the acquisition stage of how to form a derivative vocabulary (affixation, reduplication, and compound words). Key term: basic word, affixation, reduplication, compound words Penelitian ini berjudul “Kemampuan kosakata (kata dasar dan turunan) pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di PAUD Al-Haidar Bandung. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif-dskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini yaitu kata-kata yang di bentuk oleh anak usia 5-6 tahun di paud Al-Haidar Bandung. Hasil analisis dalam penelitian ini yaitu kebanyakan anak usia 5-6 tahun pada umumnya menggunakan kosakata dasar dibandingkan kosakata turunan seperti afiksasi, reduplikasi, dan kata majemuk. Hal yang menyebabkan hal tersebut terjadi dikarenakan anak usia 5-6 tahun masih dalam tahap pemerolehan bagaimana cara membentuk kosakata turunan (afiksasi, reduplikasi dan kata majemuk). Kata kunci: kata dasar, proses afiksasi, pengulangan, pemajemukan.

Abstract

The title of this research is “Compounding in CNN International Online Newspaper September, 2019: Morphological Studies”. this research aims to describe the compounding form and compounding category in CNN Internatinal online newspaper, September 2019. The method in this research is used qualitative descriptive research method. The data in this research were obtined by reading the CNN Internatinal online newspaper, September 2019. The result of this research shows that the compounding process in CNN Internatinal online newspaper, September 2019 can be classified into two forms they are writing forms and compounding forms. In writing forms they are open form and close form and the form of compounding they are endocentric compound (which has a head of compound words) and exocentric compound (which has no a head of a compound word). The category of the data they are compound noun (noun+noun/verb+noun) and compound verb (noun+verb).AbstrakPenelitian ini berjudul “Kata Majemuk dalam Teks Berita Daring CNN International Edisi September 2019: Kajian Morfologi”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk dan kategori kata majemuk dalam teks berita daring CNN International edisi Sepember 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif-deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan cara membaca berita daring CNN International bulan September tahun 2019. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses compounding dalam teks berita daring CNN International edisi Sepember 2019 dapat diklasifikasikan pada dua bentuk yang terdiri dari bentuk tulisan dan bentuk kata majemuk. Berdasarkan bentuk tulisan didapati dua bentuk tulisan yaitu close form (bentuk tertup) dan open form (bentuk terbuka), kemudian berdasarkan bentuk kata mejemuknya didapati dua bentuk, yaitu berbentuk endocentic compound  (memiliki inti kata) dan excocentric compound (tidak memiliki inti kata). Kategori kata dalam teks berita daring CNN International edisi Sepember 2019, didapati dua katgori kata majemuk, yaitu kata majemuk yang berkategori nomina (nomina+nomina/verba+nomina)  dan kata majemuk yang berkategori verba (nomina+verba).

Abstract

The title of this research is “Initialism in BBC News Online Newspapers from August-May 2025: A Morphosemantic Studies”. The purpose of this research is to identify the form of initialism and their meanings in BBC News from August-May 2025. The method of this research is a qualitative descriptive research method. The data is collected using the observation method with a note-taking method. That method is used to describe the data in this research. The data source in this research is a News article from BBC News Website published between August 2024-May 2025. The analysis of this research was carried out using the distributional method, and the Immediate Constituent (IC) analysis technique and the expansion technique. The result of this research shows that the form of initialism is divided into two parts, those are formed from single morphemes and those are formed from combinations of single and complex morphemes. The meaning from the initialism are categorized into two meanings, they are lexical meaning (literal meaning) and contextual meaning (the meaning according to the News context).

Abstract

The title of this research is "An Associative Meaning of English Sneakers Terms in the Sneakerhead Community Bandung". This research aims to describe the associative meaning of English sneakers terms in the sneakerhead community in Bandung. This research is interesting to conduct because it explains the meaning of sneakers terms according to their reference. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method, with the techniques of listening, speaking, and taking notes. The main theory of this research is taken from Leech. The results show that the associative meanings can be classified into several references, including terms that refer to similarity of form and nature, similarity of colour, similarity of function, a place, similarity of motif, and a certain history.
