Abstract

The problem of picky eaters in early childhood is a challenge that can have an impact on optimal growth and development of children. Children who only like certain types of food have the potential to be deficient in essential nutrients. This study aims to describe the management of the vegetable eating habit program at Diponegoro Kindergarten 118 Bentul Kebasen as an effort to prevent picky eater behavior. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews. The results of the collection show that the implementation of the vegetable eating habituation program has been going on for five years with full support from schools, teachers and parents of students. This program is carried out every day by involving students to get used to consuming vegetables

Abstract

The preservation of local culture in early childhood is a challenge in the midst of the development of globalization which has led to a decrease in the use of regional languages and cultural traditions in the community. One of the efforts that can be made is to integrate local culture into the learning process through an ethnopedagogical approach. This study aims to describe the implementation of ethnopedagogy through nembang jawa activities in preserving local culture in early childhood at Pertiwi 1 Kendaga Kindergarten. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The subjects of the study included principals, teachers, and students, while data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the implementation of ethnopedagogy is carried out through the habituation of the use of the Javanese language from an early age, the use of the Javanese language in daily communication in the school and community environment, and the implementation of nembang jawa activities which are carried out routinely every Thursday. Songs introduced to children include Cublak-cublak Suweng, Gundul-gundul Pacul, Padang Bulan, Jaranan, Gugur Gunung, Sepuran. Which contains the values of politeness, cooperation, responsibility, and love for local culture. The findings of the study show that nembang jawa activities not only function as a medium for cultural preservation, but also as a means of instilling character values, strengthening cultural identity, and developing children's language skills through contextual learning experiences. Thus, the ethnopedagogical approach through nembang jawa can be an effective learning alternative in maintaining the sustainability of local culture while forming character in early childhood.
