Abstract

Kendari City possesses rich tourism potential characterized by natural beauty, cultural values, and unique local architectural identity. However, the availability of representative and professional visual promotion media remains limited. Meanwhile, students' skills and potential in architectural photography have not been fully utilized to support regional development programs. This Community initiative aims to empower students through architectural photography training and field practice to produce an official tourism catalog for Kendari City in collaboration with the Tourism Office of Southeast Sulawesi Province. The implementation method comprised three main stages, which were preparation and technical briefing on architectural photography, field execution involving structured photography hunting at iconic landmarks, historical sites, and major tourist destinations across Kendari City, and photo curation and catalog synthesis. The results demonstrated a significant enhancement in students' practical skills and professional portfolio development. Furthermore, this program successfully produced the Kendari City Tourism Catalog in both print and digital formats (e-catalog), capturing aesthetic visual documentation of regional tourism assets. This synergy not only fulfills the Tourism Office's need for modern promotional materials but also strengthens strategic collaboration between academia and local government in enhancing Kendari City's destination branding.
