This study aims to describe the development strategy of an Islamic school based on pesantren, its implementation in supporting students’ learning achievement, and the supporting and inhibiting factors at SMA Gemayasih Boarding School. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the school development strategy is implemented through the integration of the National Curriculum and the HAS Curriculum, the teaching of classical Islamic texts such as Fathul Mu'in, the teaching of Ushul Fiqh and Hadith using the memaknai method, pendidikan yaumiyah, and various religious development programs. The strategy is implemented through Ramadan Training (Diklat Ramadhan), Purification Training (Diklat Thaharah), memorization of foundation-prescribed materials, and memorization of *Dzikrul Qodariyah. Supporting factors include the pesantren environment, experienced teachers with pesantren backgrounds, classical Islamic text studies, religious activities, educational facilities, and organizational management. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include students’ learning commitment and time-management skills, internal communication, economic conditions, changes in educational policies and curricula, as well as leadership and teacher quality. Overall, the strategy creates an educational environment that integrates academic, religious, and character development, thereby supporting students’ development and achievements in both religious and general fields.
