Abstract

This research is based on the low mastery of vocabulary among grade X students of MA Aswaja Tulungagung in Arabic subject. Based on this condition, this research is directed to improve students' ability to master vocabulary. The chosen approach is qualitative by applying classroom action research method, which is a reflective learning model and aims to improve the quality of the learning process while strengthening the rational basis in carrying out tasks through a review cycle that includes the planning stage, implementation of actions, observations, and reflections on the problem of students' low mastery of vocabulary in Arabic subject. In response to this condition, a classroom action is designed that focuses on improving students' mastery of vocabulary through the application of the Sam'iyah Syafahiyah method. The implementation of classroom action with the Sam'iyah Syafahiyah method in class X uses two observation patterns, namely: 1) Direct observation conducted by researchers on the course of learning activities using the Sam'iyah Syafahiyah method. 2) Participatory observation conducted by peer teachers to monitor the learning process for 2 x 35 minutes in two time sessions adjusted to the stages of teaching and learning activities in the classroom. From the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that learning using the Sam'iyah Syafahiyah method has proven to be successful and is able to improve the mastery of vocabulary in class X students of MA Aswaja Tulungagung.
