Abstract

Payment digitalization is encouraging Islamic boarding schools to use cashless systems for studenttransactions, including daily pocket money. This study aims to analyze how cashless systemsare used to manage money, focusing on budgeting, record-keeping, and spending evaluation.The study employed a qualitative case study approach at the Darussalam Blokagung IslamicBoarding School, involving interviews with 12 students, observations of transactions, and areview of payment records. The data was analyzed by condensing it, displaying it, and drawingconclusions. The results show that cashless systems help students check their balances, improvetransaction records, and encourage them to review their spending with their guardians or schooladministrators. However, how well it works depends on financial knowledge, student discipline,account security, and system stability. Therefore, cashless systems should be treated as a meansof teaching financial management, rather than merely a payment tool.
