Abstract

This study examines the responsibility of resellers in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) transactions and analyzes it from the perspective of Islamic Business Ethics. The research was conducted in Dusun Gedang, Mlirip Village, Jetis District, Mojokerto Regency, using an empirical juridical method with conceptual and case study approaches. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving resellers, MSME producers, and consumers, then analyzed descriptively and inductively. The findings show that reseller responsibility covers conveying accurate product information, making payments to producers, handling consumer complaints, and maintaining the reputation of MSME products. In practice, most resellers have carried out these duties reasonably well, although unclear cooperation agreements, delayed payments, and inconsistent complaint-handling standards still occur. Viewed through Islamic Business Ethics, reseller responsibility should rest on the principles of shiddiq (honesty), amanah (trustworthiness), al-'adl (justice), and the avoidance of gharar (uncertainty). The study concludes that reseller practices in the research location have substantively reflected Islamic ethical values, yet have not been formalized into clear written agreements, so strengthening the understanding and application of Islamic Business Ethics is still needed.
