Abstract

Traditional fishermen who are members of the Joint Business Group (KUB) of Nelayan Maju Bersama experience obstacles to access the availability of ice blocks. Ice blocks for KUB are an important element in fish preservation to maintain the quality of the catch, the value of the selling price, and the welfare of KUB members. This service activity aims to provide and apply ice block machine technology that has an impact on strengthening the independence of members so that economic resilience is realized. The method used is participatory through the stages of preparation, installation, testing, operation, and evaluation by actively involving partners. The results of the service have shown that the application of ice block machine technology has become a self-sufficient KUB for raw materials for preservation and is able to maintain the quality of fish catches. The evaluation also showed that KUB members showed a high level of satisfaction with the presence of ice block machines in their group. This program also has an impact on improving KUB management in terms of more transparent and accountable governance. So, with this activity, KUB is strengthened to become more independent and economic resilience is realized.

Abstract

Water hyacinth is an aquatic plant often used as a craft product because it is attractive for its various positive properties but requires further handling, especially regarding its color. White is one of the most popular types, and the manufacturing process involves bleaching stages using chemical compounds such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The use of H2O2 in the bleaching process still has consequences for the quality of the material, which becomes easily damaged, and the bleaching process, which involves the presence of sunlight or ultraviolet lamps, occurs more quickly. This research examines the relationship between the duration of soaking water hyacinth in H2O2 solution in the presence of direct light or in dark conditions on its color and tensile test strength. Based on the research results, the Hue, Saturation, and Value (HSV) color data increase the brightness based on saturation and value data. Tensile test capability testing carried out using the Universal Testing Machine (UTM) instrument showed that immersing water hyacinth in H2O2 for 4-8 minutes did not cause a significant change in tensile test capability, so it was still possible for various purposes as a raw material in the creative industry.

Abstract

Degradasi beton bertulang akibat penetrasi ion klorida merupakan salah satu penyebab utama penurunan durabilitas struktur di lingkungan laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis perubahan kimia pada pasta semen beton bertulang sebelum dan sesudah direndam dalam air laut buatan melalui pendekatan Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Spesimen beton bertulang direndam dalam larutan NaCl 3,5% selama 15 dan 30 hari untuk mengevaluasi evolusi gugus fungsi yang berkaitan dengan hidrasi semen, karbonasi, dan pembentukan senyawa klorida terikat. Hasil FTIR menunjukkan bahwa pada kondisi awal, karakteristik spektrum didominasi oleh gugus O–H, Si–O, dan CO₃²⁻ tanpa adanya indikasi interaksi dengan klorida. Setelah 15 hari perendaman, terjadi penurunan intensitas pita O–H, modifikasi vibrasi Si–O, serta munculnya pita baru pada rentang 600–800 cm⁻¹ yang mengindikasikan tahapan awal pembentukan senyawa aluminat–klorida. Pada hari ke-30, perubahan spektral semakin jelas dengan penguatan pita karbonat, pergeseran puncak Si–O, dan peningkatan intensitas pita 460–750 cm⁻¹ yang kompatibel dengan pembentukan Friedel’s salt. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa FTIR mampu mendeteksi perubahan kimia mikrostruktur secara bertahap akibat penetrasi klorida, mulai dari modifikasi C–S–H hingga terbentuknya klorida terikat. Dengan demikian, FTIR terbukti efektif sebagai metode identifikasi dini proses degradasi kimia beton bertulang di lingkungan laut.
