Abstract

Abstrak: Pondok pesantren merupakan lingkungan komunal berdensitas populasi tinggi sehingga rentan terhadap penularan penyakit kulit dan infeksi saluran pernapasan, sementara akseptabilitas jamu tradisional yang cenderung pahit masih rendah di kalangan santri usia muda. Pengabdian ini bertujuan mendiversifikasi Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) melalui formulasi Jamu Gummy sebagai sediaan nutrasetika untuk penguatan imun mandiri santri, dengan sasaran peningkatan hardskill sekaligus softskill mitra, yaitu keterampilan teknis budidaya TOGA dan formulasi sediaan gummy (hardskill) serta literasi kesehatan preventif, kerja sama tim, dan kemampuan komunikasi (softskill). Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan metode campuran (mixed method) yang memadukan ceramah edukatif, diskusi dua arah berbasis problem-solving, dan pelatihan praktik langsung dalam kerangka pendekatan partisipatif, dengan tahapan berupa asesmen awal (pre-test), edukasi fitofarmaka dan sistem imunologis, workshop budidaya serta formulasi gummy berbahan ekstrak kunyit, jahe, dan temulawak, dan evaluasi akhir (post-test). Mitra kegiatan adalah 40 santri pada salah satu pondok pesantren di Kalimantan Selatan, dengan pengurus pesantren berperan sebagai fasilitator. Sistem evaluasi menggunakan desain pre-test dan post-test melalui kuesioner terstruktur yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya untuk mengukur pengetahuan, sedangkan keterampilan dinilai melalui observasi praktik langsung. Indikator keberhasilan kegiatan ditetapkan berupa peningkatan rerata nilai post-test yang signifikan (p < 0,05) dan kemampuan mitra memproduksi Jamu Gummy secara mandiri. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan santri yang signifikan, dengan rerata nilai meningkat dari 45,5 pada pre-test menjadi 86,8 pada post-test (peningkatan sekitar 90,8%; paired t-test, p < 0,0001).Abstract: Islamic boarding schools are densely populated communal environments prone to the transmission of skin diseases and respiratory infections, while the acceptability of traditional herbal medicine (jamu), which tends to be bitter, remains low among young students. This community service program aims to diversify Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) through the formulation of Jamu Gummy as a modern nutraceutical dosage form to strengthen students' self-reliant immunity, targeting both hard skills (TOGA cultivation and gummy formulation techniques) and soft skills (preventive health literacy, teamwork, and communication). The implementation method used a mixed method combining educational lectures, two-way problem-solving discussions, and hands-on training within a participatory approach, comprising an initial assessment (pre-test), education on phytopharmaca and the immune system, a workshop on cultivation and gummy formulation using turmeric, ginger, and temulawak extracts, and a final evaluation (post-test). The partners were 40 students of an Islamic boarding school in South Kalimantan, Indonesia, facilitated by the school administrators. Evaluation used a pre-test and post-test design with a validated and reliable structured questionnaire to measure knowledge, while skills were assessed through observation of hands-on practice. The success indicators were a significant increase in the mean post-test score (p < 0.05) and the partners' ability to produce Jamu Gummy independently. The results showed a significant increase in students' knowledge, with the mean score rising from 45.5 in the pre-test to 86.8 in the post-test (an increase of about 90.8%; paired t-test, p < 0.0001).
