Abstract

The important role of heavy equipments in completing a project makes implementation time management effective and efficient, the selection of heavy equipment must be right in terms of type, size and quantity. Incorrect selection of heavy equipment resulting in delays in completion of construction projects. It is known that to achieve or determine the performance of heavy equipment, it requires to consider various factors, including working conditions, type and capacity of heavy equipments, work methods of heavy equipments, and theory of calculation of heavy equipment productivity. This show that the use of heavy equipment is a complex problem. The purpose of this research was to find out the amount of time management is needed in working on earthworks (division III), granular pavement (division V) and asphalt pavement (division VI) on the road structure improvement project of Mon Jeureujak – Tanjong Raya, Gandapura District, Bireuen regency. The data processing technique used in this research was the calculation of heavy equipment productivity using the Estimate Index Analysis method formula and heavy equipment time scheduling using the methods of Barchart and the Network Planning. This research was conducted based on references from previous research. From the research results, the time needed for heavy equipment in each division item to complete earthworks (division III) was 2 working days, for granular pavements (division V) was 52 working days and asphalt pavement work (division VI) was 5 working days.. Based on calculations using these two methods, it can be concluded that the length of time for using heavy equipment in division III, V and VI was 59 working days
