Abstract

Dairy farming plays a strategic role in supporting the national supply of fresh milk and improving farmers' welfare. However, the industry still faces several challenges, including suboptimal production efficiency, limited feed availability, and high operational costs. One approach to addressing these challenges is the implementation of an integrated dairy farming system, which integrates livestock production with resource utilization and waste management to improve production efficiency. This study was conducted on dairy farms implementing an integrated farming system in the Livestock Farming Area (KUNAK) of Pamijahan and Cibungbulang, as well as conventional dairy farms in Kebon Pedes Village. Differences in management practices between the integrated and conventional farming systems were presumed to affect milk production, farm income, and the efficiency of dairy farming. This study aimed to analyze the factors affecting milk production as well as to analyze farm income and the levels of technical, allocative, and economic efficiency in integrated and conventional dairy farming systems. The analytical methods included production factor analysis using Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE), income analysis using the Revenue-Cost (R/C) Ratio, and Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) to measure technical, allocative, and economic efficiency. The results showed that forage, concentrate feed, tofu by-product, and labor had a positive and significant effect on milk production. Dairy farms implementing the integrated farming system generated higher income than those adopting the conventional system. Furthermore, both farming systems achieved technical and allocative efficiency (≥0.70). Economically, the integrated farming system achieved economic efficiency (≥0.70), whereas the conventional farming system had not yet achieved economic efficiency (<0.70). Usaha peternakan sapi perah memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung produksi susu segar nasional dan peningkatan kesejahteraan peternak. Namun, usaha ini masih menghadapi kendala seperti efisiensi produksi yang belum optimal, ketersediaan pakan, dan tingginya biaya operasional. Salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah penerapan sistem peternakan terintegrasi, yaitu sistem yang mengintegrasikan usaha ternak dengan pemanfaatan sumber daya dan pengelolaan limbah untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada peternakan sapi perah dengan sistem terintegrasi di Kawasan Usaha Peternakan (KUNAK) Pamijahan dan Cibungbulang serta sistem konvensional di Kelurahan Kebon Pedes. Perbedaan sistem pengelolaan antara sistem terintegrasi dan sistem konvensional diduga memengaruhi produksi, pendapatan, dan efisiensi usaha ternak sapi perah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi produksi susu serta menganalisis pendapatan dan tingkat efisiensi teknis, alokatif, dan ekonomi pada usaha ternak sapi perah dengan sistem terintegrasi dan konvensional. Metode analisis yang digunakan meliputi analisis faktor produksi dengan menggunakan Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE), analisis pendapatan dengan menggunakan R/C ratio, serta Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) untuk mengukur efisiensi teknis, alokatif, dan ekonomi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pakan hijauan, pakan konsentrat, pakan ampas tahu, dan tenaga kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap produksi susu. Usaha ternak sapi perah dengan sistem terintegrasi menghasilkan pendapatan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan sistem konvensional. Selain itu, kedua sistem telah efisien secara teknis dan alokatif (≥0,70). Secara ekonomi, sistem peternakan terintegrasi telah mencapai efisiensi ekonomi (≥0,70), sedangkan sistem konvensional masih belum efisien secara ekonomi (<0,70).
