Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the exemplary stories of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in shaping students’ religious character in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) classes at elementary madrasahs, particularly in influencing students’ religious attitudes, values, and behavior in their daily lives. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using library research. Data were obtained from various sources, including books, scientific journals, articles, and relevant documents. Data collection involved documentation, while data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and the systematic drawing of conclusions. Research findings indicate that the exemplary stories of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) education play a role in shaping the religious character of students in Islamic elementary schools. Students become more active and find it easier to understand the material. The stories of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) serve not merely as subject matter, but as a means of instilling religious and moral values in students. The novelty of this study lies in its specific focus on analyzing the role of exemplary stories about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the context of Islamic Studies (SKI) instruction at elementary madrasahs, a topic that has yet to be thoroughly explored. This study also integrates various sources of literature to underscore the relevance of these exemplary stories as a strategy for fostering students’ religious character.

Abstract

Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam merupakan rangkaian peristiwa yang telah terjadi pada masa lampau, sejak keberadaan Islam sebagai hasil dari perkembangan budaya manusia, dimulai dari agama yang diajarkan dan disampaikan oleh Allah SWT kepada seluruh umat manusia melalui utusan-Nya, yaitu Nabi Muhammad SAW. Pengetahuan keislaman pada tingkat Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman yang komprehensif kepada peserta didik mengenai sejarah Islam dan kebudayaan Islam pada masa Nabi Muhammad SAW serta masa Khulafaur Rasyidin. Tujuan ini dimaksudkan untuk membekali siswa dengan kerangka konseptual yang objektif dan sistematis dalam perspektif sejarah, serta mampu mengambil ibrah atau pelajaran berharga dari makna yang terkandung dalam peristiwa-peristiwa sejarah, khususnya pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam (SKI), dengan memanfaatkan media audio-visual sebagai sarana dalam proses pembelajarannya.Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Samborejo Tirto. Teknik pengumpulan data yang diterapkan meliputi observasi langsung selama proses belajar mengajar berlangsung, serta wawancara yang dilakukan secara terstruktur maupun tidak terstruktur. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian yang telah dipaparkan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan media audio-visual di lingkungan madrasah ibtidaiyah memiliki kapasitas untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan prestasi akademik siswa, khususnya pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam (SKI).

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Reading, Finding, Discussing, and Talking (RFDT) learning model that encompasses socio-scientific issues and Islamic values to improve students' scientific literacy. This model is considered more comprehensive in developing students' knowledge and skills. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The sample in the study amounted to 48 students taken using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through observation techniques, interviews, validation questionnaires, and scientific literacy tests, then descriptive analysis was carried out using normalized gain and inferential analysis using an independent t-test. The results showed that the developed model was considered very valid by experts with an average score of 4.43. The application of the model showed an increase in acquisition scores in the experimental class compared to the control class, although the t-test results did not show a significant difference (p > 0.05). Several possible causes for the insignificant t-test results include the small number of samples and teachers still in the adaptation stage to the model. However, this model received a positive response from students so it is suitable for use in integrative, contextual, and religious learning.
