Abstract

The development of digital technology and social media has had a great influence on the lives of Generation Z, including in shaping their mindset, lifestyle, and behavior. One of the challenges that arises is the tendency to live a consumptive life, the desire to follow trends, and low self-control skills due to the influence of the digital environment. In facing these conditions, Christian Religious Education (PAK) educators have an important role in shaping the character of students so that they have a simple attitude and self-control based on Christian values. This discussion aims to explain the role of PAK educators in instilling the value of simplicity and self-mastery in Generation Z through the teaching of God's word, life examples, spiritual coaching, and assistance in facing the challenges of the times. A simple attitude of living is understood as the ability to use resources wisely according to needs, while self-control is the ability to regulate thoughts, feelings, and actions in accordance with God's will. The results of the discussion show that PAK educators have a significant contribution in helping Generation Z develop strong character, are not easily influenced by consumptive culture, and are able to make responsible decisions. Thus, Christian religious education plays an important role in shaping a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also has spiritual, moral, and character maturity in accordance with the teachings of Christ.
