This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Scramble method in improving reading comprehension skills in Indonesian language learning for second-grade elementary school students at SDIT 6 Muhammadiyah Lhokseumawe. The background of this research is the low level of students’ reading comprehension ability, where many students still experienced difficulties in understanding simple reading texts, identifying main ideas, and answering questions related to the content of the reading. In addition, the learning process was still dominated by conventional teaching methods that made students passive and less motivated during classroom activities. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 26 second-grade students consisting of 14 female students and 12 male students. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation. The Scramble method was implemented through activities such as arranging scrambled words into sentences, arranging sentences into paragraphs, and arranging paragraphs into complete texts. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Scramble method significantly improved students’ reading comprehension skills. Students became more active, enthusiastic, and confident during the learning process. In addition, the learning atmosphere became more interactive and enjoyable, which positively influenced students’ motivation and participation in learning Indonesian. Therefore, the Scramble method can be used as an innovative and effective learning strategy to improve elementary school students’ reading comprehension skills.
