Abstract

This study aims to examine effective learning strategies for the topic of animal structure and function in elementary schools through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research was conducted by reviewing various scientific articles obtained from Google Scholar published between 2020 and 2026. The research process included determining the focus of the study, searching articles, selecting articles based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. From the initial search, 45 articles were identified, and after the selection process, 14 relevant articles were analyzed. The findings show that student-centered learning strategies are more effective than conventional learning methods. The use of interactive learning media, active learning, educational games, multimedia, and technology-based media can improve students’ conceptual understanding, learning motivation, participation, and critical thinking skills in science learning. The most effective strategy identified was the use of Augmented Reality (AR)-based interactive learning media because it provides concrete and interactive 3D visualizations that help students understand the topic of animal structure and function more easily and attractively. Therefore, innovative and technology-based learning strategies can create more meaningful science learning and improve elementary school students’ learning outcomes.
