Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of gadget use on the behavior of elementary school students. The development of digital technology has led to an increasing use of gadgets among children at the elementary school level. On one hand, gadgets provide benefits in the learning process, such as facilitating access to information, enhancing creativity, and supporting independent learning. However, excessive and unsupervised use can negatively affect students’ behavior, including reduced social interaction, increased individualistic attitudes, emotional changes, and decreased responsibility for academic tasks. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining various articles, books, and scientific journals published between 2018 and 2026. The data were analyzed by comparing research findings related to the positive and negative impacts of gadget use. The results show that appropriate use of gadgets can support student development, while excessive use may lead to addiction and behavioral changes. The findings also indicate that high usage duration, averaging three to five hours per day, significantly disrupts students’ learning concentration and physical health at school. Therefore, the role of parents and teachers is essential in supervising and limiting gadget use to ensure positive behavioral development among elementary school students.
