Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of toxic leadership and emotional exhaustion on organizational silence among employees of PT Astra International Tbk in Jakarta and surrounding areas. This research used a quantitative approach with a survey method through questionnaires distributed to company employees. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS software. The results showed that toxic leadership had a positive and significant effect on organizational silence. In addition, emotional exhaustion also had a positive and significant effect on organizational silence. Simultaneously, toxic leadership and emotional exhaustion significantly affected organizational silence. These findings indicate that negative leadership behavior and high emotional exhaustion can increase employees’ tendency to remain silent within the organization. Therefore, companies need to create a healthy work environment, establish open communication, and pay attention to employees’ emotional well-being in order to reduce organizational silence behavior.
