The development of digital technology and globalization has significantly transformed society, especially among younger generations. These changes provide positive impacts such as easier access to information and communication, but they also create social, cultural, and moral challenges affecting national character. The spread of misinformation, hate speech, cyberbullying, digital radicalism, individualism, and declining nationalism have become serious issues in modern society. These conditions indicate the importance of strengthening state defense values through education and community service. This study aims to examine the role of education and community service in strengthening national character as an implementation of state defense values in the digital era. The research employs a literature review method by analyzing scientific journals, books, and official documents relevant to the research topic. The findings reveal that education plays a strategic role in instilling nationalism, responsibility, tolerance, cooperation, and patriotism through value-based learning and real-life experiences. Furthermore, community service serves as a practical medium for implementing state defense values through social activities, community empowerment, and strengthening social solidarity. The major challenges in strengthening national character in the digital era include the influence of global culture, low digital literacy, and weak supervision of social media use. Therefore, collaboration among schools, families, communities, and governments is necessary to strengthen character education so that younger generations can face global challenges without losing their national identity.
