Abstract

The development of digital technology has made it easier to access various sources of information; however, it has also contributed to a decline in reading interest among elementary school students. This condition poses a challenge in the field of education, considering that reading literacy is a fundamental skill. Reading literacy not only refers to the ability to read, but also includes the ability to understand, interpret, and critically analyze information. However, the level of students' literacy in Indonesia is still relatively low, and the implementation of literacy activities in schools has not been optimal. Reading activities are still limited to textbooks and are not yet supported by the availability of diverse reading materials. Therefore, more structured efforts are needed through the School Literacy Movement, which includes stages of habituation, development, and learning. With support from teachers, parents, and the school environment, it is expected that students' reading literacy skills will improve, enabling them to understand information effectively, think critically, and be better prepared to face challenges in the digital era.
