Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed the roles and responsibilities of teachers in education. This study aims to describe and analyze teachers’ responsibilities encompassing professional, pedagogical, personal, and social aspects in the digital era, as well as to identify the challenges and opportunities they face. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method using a literature review approach through the analysis of various relevant academic sources. The findings indicate that teachers are not only required to master educational technology but also to integrate digital literacy, ethical values, and character building into the learning process. Teachers’ responsibilities also extend to becoming role models in the wise use of technology and fostering effective communication with students, parents, and the wider community in digital spaces. The main challenges include limited digital competence, inadequate infrastructure, and increasing ethical issues such as the spread of misinformation and cyberbullying. However, the digital era also offers opportunities, including broader access to learning resources, innovative teaching media, and continuous professional development. In conclusion, an integrative reformulation of teachers’ responsibilities is necessary to effectively and sustainably respond to the demands of education in the digital era.
