Abstract

Character education in elementary schools is considered very important today due to problems arising from globalization, increasing digital technology, and the decline of moral values among students. Many previous studies have discussed character education, but only focused on a single perspective. Therefore, research that integrates Pancasila values, local knowledge, school culture, and the use of technology is important to be conducted to help shape students' character. How character education is practiced in elementary schools is examined in this study, aiming to find the challenges and opportunities that emerge with recent changes. Various scientific articles were reviewed using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method discussing character education in elementary schools. Data analysis was conducted directly to find patterns in the results, the implementation methods used, and how character education helps student growth. Research findings show that character education can help develop religious beliefs, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, love of the homeland, social awareness, and environmental understanding. This can be achieved by combining Pancasila values, local knowledge, school culture, extracurricular programs, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, more meaningful learning is produced by the use of methods focused on local culture combined with modern technology, efficient, and relevant to students' needs in today's digital world. This study has several limitations as it relies solely on scientific articles for data and does not include direct field observations. Therefore, it is recommended to conduct more research to create real studies on how well technology-based character education and local knowledge work in elementary schools.
