Abstract

Teacher professionalism is a critical determinant of educational quality in elementary schools. However, optimizing teacher competency requires structured and collaborative support from school leadership.This study aims to analyze and describe the principal’s mentoring strategy based on the Community of Practice (CoP) in enhancing teacher professionalism at SDN Tegallega 1 and SDN Tegallega 2. A qualitative approach with a multi-case study design was employed. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with principals and teachers, non-participant observations of CoP activities, and documentation analysis.. The findings indicate that the principal's mentoring strategy through the Community of Practice is executed through four main stages: needs identification, collaborative planning, routine sharing sessions (workshops/discussions), and participatory evaluation. This strategy significantly enhances teacher professionalism, particularly in pedagogical and professional competencies, by fostering a culture of continuous learning and peer support.
