Abstract

This article examines the doctrine of Sola Scriptura as a theological foundation of the Protestant Reformation according to Martin Luther, employing a descriptive qualitative approach within systematic theology. The novelty of this study lies in its comparative analysis between Luther and Calvin’s perspectives and modern theologians such as Karl Barth and Wolfhart Pannenberg, offering fresh insights into the dynamic relationship between Scripture, tradition, and the church. The research not only reaffirms the classical principle that Scripture is inspired, infallible, and fully authoritative, but also highlights its relevance in addressing contemporary hermeneutical challenges and ecumenical dialogues. By triangulating sources from early church tradition to modern theology, this article provides an original contribution by repositioning Sola Scriptura as the final normative principle that remains essential for Christian faith in a global era.
