<![CDATA[The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the way children interact with their social environment while simultaneously increasing their exposure to various cyber risks, such as cyberbullying, digital exploitation, and privacy violations. This condition has encouraged the Indonesian government to enact Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning Electronic System Governance for Child Protection. This study aims to analyze the parenting patterns of urban parents in protecting children in the digital era and to evaluate the implementation of this policy within the context of family parenting. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using secondary data analysis from the 2026 survey conducted by EVIDENT Institute, involving 1,050 parent respondents in urban areas of Indonesia. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics and a normative comparative approach to identify gaps between regulatory frameworks and empirical practices. The results indicate that 91% of parents implement restrictions on children’s screen time, while 83.6% monitor their children’s digital activities. However, despite the high level of parental involvement, concerns regarding children’s digital safety remain significant due to weak protection systems provided by digital platforms. These findings reveal a protection gap between domestic supervision and the responsibilities of digital platforms. This study concludes that the successful implementation of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 requires synergy among strong public policies, compliance from digital platforms, and democratic parenting patterns based on open communication within families.]]>
