ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the effect of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers' pedagogical competence on the cognitive competence of fifth-grade students at SDIT Jamiyyatul Mustaqim. The study was motivated by the fact that students' cognitive competence is influenced not only by their own abilities but also by the quality of teachers' pedagogical competence in managing the learning process. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students at SDIT Jamiyyatul Mustaqim, totaling 20 students, who were selected using total sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring teachers' pedagogical competence and students' cognitive competence. The instruments were tested for validity and reliability, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, simple linear regression, the t-test, and the coefficient of determination with IBM SPSS. The findings revealed a positive relationship between teachers' pedagogical competence and students' cognitive competence, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.355. However, the effect was not statistically significant, as indicated by a significance value of 0.125 (>0.05) and tcount (1.609) < ttable (2.101). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.126 indicated that teachers' pedagogical competence contributed 12.6% to students' cognitive competence, while the remaining 87.4% was influenced by other factors. Therefore, teachers' pedagogical competence was not found to have a significant effect on students' cognitive competence.

This study aimed to determine the effect of Tahfidz learning on the ability to memorize short surahs among Group B children at TK Tunas Harapan 1 Balikpapan. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample was selected using a saturated sampling (total sampling) technique involving all 80 Group B students. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics, including validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, simple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination (R²), and t-test. The results showed that Tahfidz learning had a positive and significant effect on children's ability to memorize short surahs. This was evidenced by the t-value of 10.784, which was higher than the t-table value of 1.991, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.599, indicating that Tahfidz learning contributed 59.9% to the ability to memorize short surahs, while the remaining 40.1% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Therefore, Tahfidz learning can be considered an effective program for improving the ability of early childhood students to memorize short surahs.

This study aims to examine the effect of moral values in the Qur'an on the moral character of students at SDIT Darul Hasanah Balikpapan. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey design. The sample consisted of 20 students, and the data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics version 25. The findings indicated that the research instrument was valid and reliable. The hypothesis testing revealed a t-value of 4.612 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that moral values in the Qur'an have a positive and statistically significant effect on students' moral character. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R Square) was 0.542, suggesting that 54.2% of the variation in students' moral character could be explained by moral values in the Qur'an, while the remaining 45.8% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. These findings demonstrate that the better students understand and implement the moral values contained in the Qur'an, the better their moral character becomes. Therefore, strengthening the habituation of reading, understanding, and practicing the moral teachings of the Qur'an is essential for fostering students with noble character.

This study aims to determine the influence of Islamic Religious Education Teachers on student discipline at Patra Dharma 2 Junior High School Balikpapan. Islamic Religious Education Teachers have a strategic role in shaping the character of students through example, habituation, guidance, and instilling Islamic values in daily life. This study uses a quantitative approach with an independent variable (X), namely Islamic Religious Education Teachers, and a bound variable (Y), namely student discipline. The research population was all students of SMP Patra Dharma 2 Balikpapan, while the sampling technique used Simple Random Sampling. Data was collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale of four options that had met the validity and reliability tests. Data analysis was carried out using IBM SPSS Statistics through validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, simple linear regression analysis, t-tests (partial), and determination coefficients (R²). The results of the study show that Islamic Religious Education Teachers have a positive and significant effect on student discipline. This is shown by the value of the correlation coefficient (R) of 0.613 which shows a strong relationship between the two variables. The value of the determination coefficient (R²) of 0.376 shows that Islamic Religious Education Teachers contribute 37.6% to student discipline, while 62.4% are influenced by other factors outside the study. The results of the t-test obtained a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05), so that the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that Islamic Religious Education Teachers have a positive and significant influence on student discipline at Patra Dharma 2 Balikpapan Junior High School. These findings show that the role of teachers in the learning process is an important factor in shaping the discipline character of students in the school environment.
