Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyze the influence of mathematical anxiety on the self-efficacy of class VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang; (2) analyze the influence of self-concept on the self-efficacy of class VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang; (3) analyze the influence of mathematical anxiety on the mathematical critical thinking ability of class VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang; (4) analyze the influence of self-concept on the critical thinking ability of class VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang; and (5) analyze the influence of self-efficacy on the critical thinking ability of class VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang. This study uses an ex post facto quantitative approach. The research population was all class VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang consisting of 10 classes, while the research sample was taken using cluster random sampling technique in classes VIII D, VIII E, and VIII G. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires to measure mathematical anxiety, self-concept, and self-efficacy, as well as test questions to measure students' mathematical critical thinking ability. The data were analyzed using path analysis with the help of SPSS 25 and SmartPLS software. The results of the study showed: (1) The direct effect of mathematical anxiety on the self-efficacy of grade VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang was -0.295; (2) The direct effect of self-concept on the self-efficacy of grade VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang was 0.503; (3) The direct effect of mathematical anxiety on the mathematical critical thinking ability of grade VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang was -0.252; (4) The direct effect of self-concept on the mathematical critical thinking ability of grade VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang was 0.213; (5) The direct effect of self-efficacy on the critical thinking ability of grade VIII students of MTsN 6 Malang was 0.603.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menganalisis pengaruh mathematic anxiety terhadap self confidence peserta didik kelas Negeri 8 Malang; (2) menganalisis pengaruh mathematic anxiety terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis peserta didik kelas Negeri 8 Malang; (3) menganalisis pengaruh self confidence terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik kelas Negeri 8 Malang; (4) menganalisis pengaruh self confidence terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis peserta didik kelas Negeri 8 Malang; serta (5) menganalisis pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis peserta didik kelas Negeri 8 Malang. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan metodologi penelitian kuantitatif dengan menerapkan desain penelitian ex-post facto. Populasi penelitian ini mencakup seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 8 Malang, yang berjumlah 360 peserta didik, dengan sampel berjumlah 98 peserta didik. Intrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari kuisioner dan soal tes. Teknik analisis data yang diterapkan adalah analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 11) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan mathematic anxiety terhadap self confidence peserta didik, hasil koefisien jalur sebesar -0,631 (p-value = 0,000); 2) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan mathematic anxiety terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis peserta didik, hasil koefisien jalur sebesar -0,221 (p-value = 0,015); 3) Tedapat pengaruh yang signifikan self confidence terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik, dengan hasil koefisien jalur sebesar 0,699 (p-value = 0,000); 4) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan self confidence terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis peserta didik, dengan hasil koefisien jalur sebesar 0,525 (p-value = 0,000); serta 5) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis peserta didik, dengan hasil koefisien jalur sebesar 0,248 (p-value = 0,011).
