Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is one of the most widely consumed fruit vegetables and has good nutritional value; however, its productivity has been declining in recent years. One of the efforts to increase cucumber production is through proper cultivation techniques, particularly by applying balanced fertilization. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different types of manure and NPK fertilizer dosages on the growth and yield of young-harvest cucumbers. The experiment was conducted using a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) consisting of 9 treatment combinations with 3 replications, resulting in 27 experimental units. Each unit consisted of 4 sample plants, giving a total of 108 plants. The results showed that chicken manure produced the best growth and yield, while NPK fertilizer at 40 g/plant also produced the best growth and yield. The combination of chicken manure and NPK fertilizer at 40 g/plant gave the best results for the growth and yield of young-harvest cucumbers.
