Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in helping students overcome the trauma of parental divorce at MAN Sumenep. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling. The research informants included the BK teacher and 2 students who experienced parental divorce. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation as a test of data validity. The results indicate that parental divorce impacts students' psychological, social, and academic aspects, characterized by prolonged feelings of sadness, anxiety, changes in social behavior, and decreased motivation and academic achievement. BK teachers play a crucial role in the student trauma recovery process through identification, initial assessment, individual counseling services, group counseling, class guidance, and collaboration with homeroom teachers and parents. This study confirms the crucial role of BK teachers in supporting the psychological well-being of students who experienced parental divorce in the madrasah environment
