Abstract

This study aims to analyze the semantic aspects of Barasuara song lyrics, emphasizing lexical meaning, connotative meaning, metaphor, and contextual meaning, which represent personal experiences and social realities. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a semantic approach. The research data consist of excerpts of Barasuara song lyrics purposively selected from several albums. The analysis shows that Barasuara lyrics are rich in the use of natural metaphors, existential symbolism, and connotative meanings that function as a medium for social criticism, spiritual reflection, and expression of collective identity. These findings demonstrate that song lyrics function not only as musical aesthetics but also as a complex discourse of meaning.
