Abstract

This research is a type of qualitative research which is library (Library Research) by using descriptive analysis. As for the results of this research, the author concludes that gratitude in the Al-Qur'an, interpreted by Ibn Kathir and Al-Ibriz, is to be thankful, acknowledge blessings and show them by praising. Or more fully, gratitude is the visible influence of Allah Ta'ala's favor on the words of His servants in the form of praise, on the heart in the form of recognition, and on the limbs in the dimension of obedience or compliance. The point is to repay Allah Ta'ala's favors by means of words, deeds, and accompanied by the intention to always remember Him. Comparison of two interpretations in interpreting the word gratitude, namely: Firstly, according to Tafsir Ibnu Katsir, gratitude is acknowledging the blessings that Allah has given by mentioning them verbally. And use these pleasures to obey Allah Ta'ala so that Allah increases these pleasures and stays away from disbelief in order to avoid His punishment. Second, according to Tafsir Al-Ibriz, gratitude is acknowledging the blessings that Allah has given by mentioning them verbally. A servant's devotion to Allah Ta'ala will not increase his kingdom/power as creator, but a servant's gratitude and devotion will actually increase the servant's own blessings.

Abstract

Birr al walidayn education is one of the most important factors in ideal character education. The creation of a generation that has good character is a dream for parents to their children. Birr al walidayn education is very influential on adab to parents. In the Qur'an, Allah SWT. has explained many verses related to Birr al walidayn. Allah tells the story of a mother's struggle so that a child can know the struggle of a mother so that she can repay him by being kind to him and not being disobedient to him, even if one of them is not to say "ah" which has been explained in Surah al-Isra verse 23. verse 23, there are several prohibitions in the words of Uffin, prohibition of shouting with harsh words, saying with noble words. The Qur'an and the Sunnah emphasize Birr al walidayn as an obligation. The rights and obligations of respecting, obeying and doing good to both parents are not only because both of them are a factor in their existence or because both of them first did good deeds to them so that they are obliged to repay them equally, but because Allah Himself obliges them to obey them This explains how much Islamic concern for both parents.

Abstract

The understanding acquired by students during the learning process significantly contributes to building a strong academic foundation and supports the development of essential life skills for the future. This research uses a qualitative approach. The informants in this study were Social Studies teachers. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study are as follows: 1) The steps of the VCT model include: developing a complete instructional plan (scenario) outlined in the Lesson Plan (RPP) by clearly defining the targeted values; during the lesson opening, the teacher explains the learning objectives, content scope, methods, tools, and general overview; the teacher presents a stimulus and issues relevant to the learning material; students are asked to classify the material and problems, then analyze case by case, and determine their own stance along with arguments and reasoning—students are encouraged to relate the case to their own experiences; the teacher and students provide comments and engage in discussion to reinforce the students’ values; the teacher and students conclude the lesson together; 2) The advantages of the VCT include: helping students identify personal values; increasing self-awareness; encouraging responsible decision-making; developing social skills and empathy; being flexible and adaptable to various learning materials; 3) The disadvantages of the VCT are: it is not sufficient to build strong character alone; it tends to focus more on cognitive aspects and less on the affective domain; and it requires highly trained teachers. The conclusion of this study is that the VCT model can be applied in the learning process as an effort to enhance student understanding during the learning process at the Madrasah or school level.

Abstract

The ability to read the Qur'an with tartil (proper recitation) is an obligation for every Muslim. However, reality shows that many Muslim children, especially in rural areas, are still unable to read the Qur'an correctly. Pakis Hamlet in Pakis Village, Kunjang District, faces similar issues, with factors such as a lack of competent teachers, limited learning facilities, and low motivation among children to learn the Qur'an. To address these problems, a Qur'an reading assistance program was implemented using the sorogan method integrated with modern learning approaches. This study aims to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the program in improving the ability to read the Qur'an with tartil among children in Pakis Hamlet. Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, this study actively involved the community in every stage, from initial mapping to program evaluation. Data was collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and documentation. The results show significant improvements in children's Qur'an reading abilities, including reading fluency, tajwid accuracy, and understanding of verse meanings. The program also positively impacted children's psychological and social aspects, as well as increased awareness and participation of parents and the community in Qur'anic education. The sorogan method integrated with modern learning approaches proved effective in overcoming existing obstacles. Collaboration between the research team, community leaders, and various stakeholders was key to the program's success. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions to the development of Qur'anic learning in rural areas and offers a community service model that can be replicated in other areas with similar characteristics
