Abstract

Objective: PT Varia Usaha Beton experienced various problems, including product defects allegedly due to lack of quality control in the production process, and the purpose of this study is to determine the causes of paving product failure and determine the risk reduction strategy for damage to paving products. Method: To conduct this research using six sigma and kaizen methods. Results: January-December 2023, the company standard for product defects was 0.1% of production each month, in January the defect was 0.3%, February the defect was 0.2%, March the defect was 0.5%, April the defect was 0.4%, May the defect was 0.2%, June the defect was 0.3%, July the defect was 0.4%, August the defect was 0.3%, September the defect was 0.4%, October the defect was 0.2%, November the defect was 0.4%, and December the defect was 0.2%, results showed the highest defect was in March 4859 out of 984275 and the lowest was in October 985 out of 552177, and types of defects: crack 9250, gupil 10040, porous 9961, with production improvement analysis using Kaizen Five M Checklist focusing on supervision, machine maintenance, material, SOP, and environment. Novelty: Further research is needed on factors that contribute to product defects.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to determine the sigma value and factors that cause defects in the production process of Mujair Asap MSMEs and determine risk mitigation for product quality control at Mujair Asap MSMEs. Method: In this research, the method used is the Six Sigma method with the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control stages. Results: As a result of this research, it is known that the highest risk in the Mujair Asap MSME production process is defects in the form of shapes that do not comply with standards. Priorities for improvement are additional training for workers, creation of SOPs, suitability of the raw materials used and appropriate methods and equipment to support MSME productivity and minimize defects in the products produced. Novelty: An important factor in building a business is quality. Quality control is important to maintain consumer loyalty. In a production process, it is often found that the resulting product still does not comply with predetermined standards. In the Mujair Asap Business, the products produced often do not meet the appropriate standards, defective or damaged products result in significant losses if not immediately repaired.

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this research is to determine what factors cause work accidents and determine appropriate and effective risk control strategies. Method: The methods used to carry out the analysis are the HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) and FTA (Faut Tree Analysis) methods. Results: The results of this research are able to reduce the risk of danger arising from work accidents by requiring workers to wear gloves and boots during the production process. Novelty: In the process of producing smoked tilapia there is a risk of dangers that have the potential to cause work accidents. The dangers that often occur are cuts on the hands, injuries to the hands during production activities and exposure to sparks due to lack of caution. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to prevent work accidents and work-related diseases, one of which can be done by means of risk analysis.
