Abstract

Sanur Kaja Village has a special waste management facility for processing waste produced by the village community, namely Depo Cemara. Based on previous research on the effectiveness of waste management in the Depo Cemara, it is known that in general these activities have been running well but are less efficient. This is because of the community has not done waste sorting and the application of the 3R principle at its source, which this is one of the assessment aspects. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of the waste management system that has been implemented by the people of Sanur Kaja Village by comparing the amount of waste managed by households with the 3R principle with the amount of waste wasted in order to obtain a percentage of waste reduction. Data collection was obtained by distributing questionnaires to respondents who were determined by purposive sampling technique. The data obtained were then calculated by analyzing the mass balance of waste and then further analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis methods. The results of research on 96 households show that community-based waste management is still not effective because the percentage of waste reduction that occurs in one day only 22,5% and respondents who sort household waste are 44%. The community agreed to the plan to implement the 3R principle in household waste management and considered it important to add supporting facilities for waste management.

Abstract

Agricultural cultivation requires optimal management of hand tractor needs. The number of hand tractors required depends on the area of agricultural land. This study aimed to determine the need for hand tractors and plan the optimal number as a recommendation. Quantitative analysis was conducted through survey methods to obtain primary data, namely field measurements. The results showed that the speed of the hand tractor was 0.686 m/s. The effective land capacity was 0.0366 ha/hour, while the theoretical land capacity was 0.066 ha/hour. The hand tractor had a field efficiency of 55.45%. Based on these results, Bangbang Village requires 15 units of hand tractors for agricultural processing.

Abstract

Fish cultivation holds profitable potential for businesses, especially in developing countries. Generally, cultivation requires regular care and attention, and the growth and reproduction of fish are significantly influenced by consistent feeding. By implementing an automated system for fish feeding, cultivators can simplify the process, eliminating the need to manually provide feed at set intervals. This study aims to design and create an automated fish feeder device based on the Arduino Mega microcontroller and to evaluate the performance of the system. The design incorporates components such as a keypad, LCD, HC-SR04 sensor, RTC sensor, buzzer, servo motor, DC motor, load cell, and relay to control and measure the feed's weight and regulate feeding frequency. The constructed system produces a prototype with dimensions of 37 cm in diameter, 40 cm in width, and 95 cm in height, while the feeder measures 15 cm in length, 15 cm in width, and 26 cm in height. The automated fish feeder system demonstrates effective performance, with the HC-SR04 sensor showing an error of 0.5%, the RTC sensor a time difference of 10 seconds from real time, and the load cell sensor an error of 1.75%. This system successfully assists users in providing automatic and scheduled fish feeding.

Abstract

Irrigation is defined as a means of utilizing water resources. In Bali, irrigation management in agriculture is carried out by forming an organization called Subak. One of the characteristics of subak is that its members have the same water source and receive a fair distribution of water from that source. Regulation is very necessary for dividing and distributing irrigation water so that the amount of water given to the land is in accordance with the needs needed by the plant. However, the level provision of water irrigation is still not appropriate for each subak. Thus, it is necessary to evaluate the performance of irrigation networks using MPR analysis. MPR analysis was carried out by measuring the available debit, using a qualitative data analysis approach, and by calculating irrigation water needed, using the average climatological data for the last ten years, from 2012 - 2021, obtain from BMKG Region III Denpasar and data from interview pekaseh. The results of the analysis show that irrigation performance with the good category is dominated by subak in DI Aya, with a distribution of MPR values of 0,77 – 1,19. Meanwhile, the very less category is dominated by subak in DI Gadungan Lambuk, with a distribution MPR values of 0,00 – 0,36. During the dry season, further downstream, the performance irrigation network is getting less and less. In order for irrigation performance to always be in a good category, the irrigation water distribution strategy for subtasks in DAS Ho can be carried out by rotating the distribution of irrigation water. If it doesn’t work, it is necessary to repair the problematic irrigation networks.
