Abstract

The increasing prevalence of psychological problems highlights the need for interventions that address both psychological symptoms and spiritual dimensions. This study aimed to synthesize the models, implementation, outcomes, and contributions of Islamic mindfulness interventions in strengthening psychological well-being. A systematic literature review was conducted using established reporting guidelines for systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Eleven articles published between 2021 and 2024 were retrieved from Google Scholar, Crossref, and Scopus via Publish or Perish and analyzed using descriptive synthesis. The findings indicate that Islamic mindfulness was associated with reduced anxiety, depression, and fatigue and with improved resilience, religiosity, self-efficacy, caring behavior, and psychological well-being across diverse populations and delivery formats. However, only one study directly measured psychological well-being, while the others examined related outcomes. These findings support Islamic mindfulness as a promising integrative approach, while future research should use standardized protocols, stronger designs, larger samples, direct measures of psychological well-being, and longer follow-up periods.
